| Other Info | The CT Valley Driving Club, puts on a lovely fall Drive Pace every year at the splendid 300 plus acre Lord Creek estate in Lyme, CT overlooking the Connecticut River. You just won't believe the views and the fantastic trails. It's awesome. Field and woods trails, a scenic bridge crossing, a loop around an island, trails that bring you down to the lovely rivers edge, just a real treat. This is a super low key event, but it helps if your horse is in condition. You can do the Pace at any pace really. Some just go out for a leisurely drive along the marked 5-7 mile route. Others go at "Pace" (combo of trotting and walking, depending on footing). Parking is inside a grassy rock walled field and we enjoy a nice picnic after the morning drive. Some morning drivers also opt to take the same horse out in the afternoon for the RIDE part of the Pace. Ribbons go to Drivers, Riders and to Drive/Riders. There is a mid-day ribbons ceremony for Drivers only for those who want to hit the road. |
