Jeff Morse Clinic Rocks the House
A fabulous day was had by those on both sides of the glass of the CVDC Spring Tune Up Clinic with Jeff Morse today at the lovely High Hopes Therapeutic Riding in Old Lyme. The clinic ran from 8am to 5pm, and was punctuated with a hearty potluck lunch. Approximately 12 drivers and 35 auditors attended, at various points in the day, enjoying the great footing in the ring, and the audio and large glass windows inside the warm and spacious observation suite. Temperatures in the ring were mild for March, in the 50’s, to Jeff’s relief I’m sure. Jeff worked on a wide range of skills, with his usual brand of attention to detail — each session starting with Jeff’s subtle adjustments and suggestions with regard to bitting, harnessing, vehicle choice, and whip. It was highly educational for all. More than half of the clinic’s entrants were “mini” in stature, but as Jeff pointed out, anything but mini in heart. He said this follows the national trend, which is showing a sharp increase in those driving minis. An entire contingent of High School mini drivers came down from Storrs with their teacher and mothers. Also, youth driver Maggie Sullivan was on hand as well. Everyone seemed to enjoy seeing all the youth drivers, and minis!
Jeff was presented with a club hat, a Thank You card signed by everyone, and a care package of food for his long trip home. Special thanks for those who helped pull off the day — you know who you are!
